It positions a large 360-degree air filter with a huge inlet where the stock version would be, but it is enclosed in a housing that seals against the hood, shielding the filter from the heat of the engine which enables it to take in larger amounts of cooler, dense air. This air contains more oxygen which makes for more complete combustion, resulting in more horsepower and torque and therefore, improved performance.
